    Example:

    What are ancestor altars:

Ancestor Altar is a designated space for creating a strong connection with your ancestors, blood, and chosen family who have passed on. It is a sacred space to honor their memory, connect and seek guidance. By setting up an ancestor altar, you can establish a strong connection and invite their energy to support you in discovering your ancestral history, destiny, spiritual gifts, and generational legacy.

When using your altar, it is important to:

    • Place remembrance artifacts that connect to ancestors, including any pictures, artifacts, obituaries, jewelry, or papers that bring honor to them.
    • Include offerings: food and objects your ancestors enjoyed when alive and guide you to purchase.
    • Build a healthy daily practice with your ancestor altar; it can be every day, once a week, as often as your need.
    • Replenish the water on your altar. Water is another portal that connects to the spiritual water.
    • Include and change offerings daily: Food, objects, flowers, etc.
    • Remove old food daily and build a routine of cleansing off your altar.
    • Be open and discerning. Trust your intuition.
    • Remember that they are your family! Your ancestors know you and will never judge you. Each of them understands where you are now and your heart. Leave shame at the door and embrace their love!

    Offerings:

A good question to ask yourself is, What did my relatives enjoy when they were physically living? If you have reservations and are unsure, meditate at your altar and ask your ancestors to reveal what they want. Be specific in asking them how to unveil that information to you. Feeling secure and supported in listening to your intuition is crucial, so be patient with yourself. As your relationship with them, yourself, and your divine God strengthens, you will be able to understand their forms of communication with you because you trust your intuition.

    Joss Paper:

Joss Paper is an essential ritual of spiritual practice in many African, Chinese, and East Asian cultures. It is often used in ancestor honoring to support and honor our beloved dead. This special paper is burned in rituals of offering and prayer to bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realms. Historically, the smoke carries the prayers of the living to the realm of the dead.

Joss Paper is a spiritual offering used to support the ancestors and viewed as a spiritual form of money that supports the ancestors and helps clear any karmic debt or crossed conditions that our bloodline may be experiencing. It is essential with gratitude and honor those who have come before us.

IMPORTANT: Altars are essential for any spirit work or ritual. It helps to protect and ground you while allowing you to connect with your ancestors. When working with ancestors, please be aware of the potential of spirit attachments. Ground yourself with prayer/intention when doing any spirit work.
